Regional indulgence on the South Tyrolean Wine Road
A paradise for wine connoisseurs
Did you know that the South Tyrolean Wine Road with its picturesque landscapes is the largest wine-growing area in South Tyrol? Although around 55% of the cultivated varieties are red wines, Eppan, Kaltern, and Tramin are gaining ever greater prominence with their excellent white wines: Sanct Valentin, Puntay, Cornell, Gewürztraminer Nussbaumer, Terminum, and Serenade are some of the outstanding white or sweet wines from the Oltradige/Überetsch region.
The fruit orchards and vineyards of Gartenhotel Moser
Your hosts, the Moser family, have been working in farming for many years themselves and grow apples and grapes on the large plot of land around Gartenhotel Moser. We cultivate a total of 13 hectares of fruit orchards and vineyards.
This passion soon led to us founding our own winery, “Tenuta Moser”, where we create exquisite wines as well as our craft beer, Mendelbier, which bear the signature of experienced cellar master and beer brewer Gerhard Sanin. The Moser family also produces its own apple juice, grappa, and crunchy “Schüttelbrot” bread made with spent hops. You’ll find all our products in our little hotel shop.
Wine highlights
Our sommelier Gerold and apprentice sommelier Thomas continuously develop their skills by visiting various winemakers in the surrounding area every year. This has led to the creation of our unique wine list with wines from near and far to suit all tastes. Several times a week, our sommeliers take you on a voyage through the vines and to explore the various nuances of South Tyrolean wines.
We’re particularly proud of our “Red Stone” wine cellar. Here you will find the finest tipples from the best wine-growing regions in Italy and from the rest of the world. During our wine tours and tasting sessions, we explain the secrets of viticulture, guide you through our own winery at our wine hotel in South Tyrol, and show you our cellar over a delicious glass of wine.
